Mayor of Tiflis visits AS+P

Last Friday, Georgian politician Dr. Davit Narmania, Mayor of the City of Tiflis, visited Frankfurt/Main with an 11-strong delegation.

Following a visit to the AS+P offices and a welcome address by Prof. Albert Speer, Joachim Schares, AS+P Managing Partner took the high-ranking delegation, staff from the Frankfurt City Planning Department, and experts from the Tiflis City Parliament on a tour of the Europaviertel district on the site of the former freight station. Having explained the master plan, devised by AS+P, for the 90-hectare new district in downtown Frankfurt, Joachim Schares accompanied the visitors to the Rhine-Main Planning Association, where the inter-municipal preparatory land use plan for the Rhine-Main region was presented.

Since 2015, AS+P has been working for the City Institute Georgia (CIG) on updating preparatory land use planning in the Georgian capital. The primary goals are reducing traffic in the city, regulating urban sprawl, and locating development areas. Long-term solutions for large brownfield sites that have emerged as a result of the collapse of the industrial sector are also being worked out.
