Festive groundbreaking ceremony for the new Cargolux headquarters
On friday the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Cargolux headquarters building has been celebrated in the presence of Mayor Simone Massard-Stitz, the CEO of lux-Airport Johan Vanneste and with Richard Forson, President and CEO of Cargolux Airlines International.
In 2015, AS+P won the competition to design the new Cargolux Headquarters at Findel Airport in Luxembourg and in 2016 was commissioned to handle the planning for the new build.
Designed by AS+P, highlights of the building at Luxembourg Airport include the flight simulator hall, which can be readily viewed from the outside, and above it the 2-story office wing, which appears almost to hover. The headquarters has space for approx. 375 office work stations, conference rooms, an extension for the existing canteen, as well as training and seminar areas. An integrated workshop for apprentices and a training hall make the headquarters a multi-purpose building.
The move to the new build is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020.
