MHK Campus officially opened
Designed and realized by AS+P, the MHK Group's European head office in Dreieich was officially opened on Monday
The 112-meter long building stands out for its spectacular, 32-meters long cantilever. It forms a canopy for the bespoke forecourt and the entrance to the building. The cantilever is realized by means of two four-story trussed girders, which are back-hung into the solid section of the building and are clearly visible on the inside. The two-story podium houses the foyer, restaurant, and conference area. Above it there are four glazed office stories and a penthouse. Almost a third of the building appears to hover freely above the ground. The energy-efficient structure is located in grounds that are a full six hectares in size and were likewise designed by AS+P, and is complemented by area 3 (the training, education, and cultural center) and a parking deck. In the presence of the Minister President of the State of Hessen Volker Bouffier (CDU), the Federal Chairman of the German Liberal Party (FDP) Christian Lindner, and Dieter Zimmer, Mayor of the City of Dreieich (SPD), and more than 350 guests Hans Strothoff, founder and CEO of the MHK Group (the client), stressed the importance of the open, transparent headquarters to him, the Group, and all the staff: "This building is our project for the future, and something truly extraordinary." He went on to emphasize that with its state-of-the-art work spaces the new MHK Campus promotes "communication, exchange, and cohesion".
