- The District of Liederbach intends to initiate a new urban development project on the southeastern periphery of the Oberliederbach settlement with the emphasis being on "housing". The idea is to take some 5 hectares of land north of the road, hitherto built up only on one side, and erect a variety of structures for different usages (including a hotel, a childcare center and a housing complex for senior citizens). The grounds are in the immediate vicinity of a high-rise built in the 1970s along the "Am Wehr" road. On the side facing the open countryside, the quarter will be surrounded by extensive areas used for farming, while on the side with the settlement the grounds abut with Liederbach, with a park in-between.
On the basis of the urban masterplan developed by AS+P, the company was then appointed to compile the legal zoning plan and, on behalf of the district, to lead manage the entire process as per the German Building Code. The Legal Zoning Plan is soon to be resolved and thus entered in the district statutes. In cooperation with Hessische Landgesellschaft mbH (HLG) the District of Liederbach will develop and market the quarter. The plans foresee a total of some 220 residential units being erected there.
In the form of the new "Beim Wehr - südlich des Augraben" residential quarter, the District of Liederbach is making an important contribution to helping lessen the housing shortage in the Frankfurt-Rhine-Main metropolitan region.
