Hessentag 2010
Stadtallendorf, Germany, 2008 - 2009
- Client: City of Stadtallendorf
- Timeframe: 2008 - 2009

In 2010, the city of Stadtallendorf will host the 50th Hessentag. As previous years have shown, large numbers of visitors are expected for the ten day state festival. The two planned open air concerts alone are expected to attract up to 40,000 people. Such attendance numbers will place a large amount of pressure of organizers in terms of transportation (public and private motorized traffic).
As high importance is placed on private traffic, a large number of parking spaces are to be allocated on the one hand, and on the other, driving to and from parking facilities is to be facilitated with minimal difficulty. In addition, special traffic concerns exist (e.g. the handicapped, VIP's, exhibitors, etc.) which have to take the demands of emergency routes and general pedestrian guidance into consideration.

AS+P Albert Speer + Partner GmbH was assigned for the comprehensive transport support and planning for the Hessentag 2010. Encompassed within this assignment is, first and foremost, the locational analysis for large-scale parking, elaboration of a capacity framework, creation of a detailed traffic guidance concept, parking organization and a signage concept as well as the conception of a shuttle plan between event grounds and parking lots or the train station. All planning is coordinated in regular workshops with all involved partners.
