SimTD Safe and Intelligent Mobility - Test Field Germany

Frankfurt/Main, Germany, 2009 - 2013

Research project, preparation, execution and evaluation of a large-scale test field for Car-to-X-Communication

  • Client: City of Frankfurt am Main
  • Timeframe: 2009 - 2013

The reasearch project simTD, with the study and experimentation of the Car-to-X-Communication and its application, will shape the safe and intelligent mobility of tomorrow. For this purpose, realistic traffic scenarios will initially be tested within "test-field" infrastructure, in order to then test political, economical and technological parameters for successful implementation of the car-to-car and car-to-infrastructure network within a large-scale field test: in and around the Hessen metropolis Frankfurt am Main.

Within the scope of this project, AS+P, assigned by the City of Frankfurt am Main, are responsible for the preparation, execution and evaluation of this field test. Tasks are test design planning including necessary infrastructure, support during the experimentation process and evaluation and analysis of test results. Thereby, factors relevant to the City of Frankfurt am Main, such as traffic impacts, user-oriented effects (e.g. acceptance) as well as safety and technical aspects, stand in the forefront.
