The German Design Council is sending AS+P into the competition with two projects, namely the integrated urban planning for Badya City in the category Urban Space and Infrastructure, and the new MHK European Headquarters in the Architecture category.

AS+P is delighted to receive both nominations – seeing as the German Design Council honors excellent projects in the German architecture and design landscape that are characterized by a high degree of quality in terms of design, outstanding aesthetics and innovative materials, energy efficiency and social palatability.

AS+P is nominated in the Urban Space and Infrastructure category with the project Integrated Urban Planning Badya City, a compact city with emission-free mobility currently being planned, which is to take the pressure off overcrowded Cairo in the western strategic urban expansion zone in the future. The new build MHK European Headquarters is also nominated, in the Architecture category. The building ensemble in Dreieich with a congress center and parking garage is distinguished by the characteristic free-floating overhang – a structural challenge that the planners at AS+P overcame with two four-story back-hung steel trussed girders, which are revealed inside the building.
