1,000 new apartments on the Rebstock site
Instead of the planned office buildings 1,000 new apartments will be built in Frankfurt’s Rebstock district. AS+P provided the urban design for the northern construction plots.
The City of Frankfurt is currently amending the legal zoning plan for the construction areas to the north of Leonardo-da-Vinci Allee in the Rebstock district, which have remained undeveloped for decades. The 1999 legal zoning plan envisaged large office high-rises here for which, however, no developer was found in the course of the last 20 years. As a consequence, AS+P devised an urban development concept for the northern construction plots. The whole area now has space for 1,000 new apartments, around 30 percent of which will be built as subsidized housing. The development will also include retail premises and a nursery. The buildings will be realized by ABG FRANKFURT HOLDING, on whose behalf AS+P is planning around 550 residential units, and by LBBW Immobilien Development GmbH. A modified version of the plaza envisaged in the original legal zoning plan features in the new concept as well and will in future form the vibrant center of the new quarter.
