For the fourth time in a row, a project by AS+P has received the internationally recognised Iconic Award from the German Design Council: After the "MHK European Headquarters" (2020) and the "Cargolux New Headquarters" (2021), the "HeidelbergCement AG Group Headquarters" has now also received the award. At the award ceremony, Associate Partner Kathrin Gallus, Susanne Wellershaus, Head of Corporate Communications, and Managing Director Axel Bienhaus expressed their pride on behalf of the entire AS+P team.

"The project provided us with the occasion and the opportunity to show the design potential of concrete as a material, also in the interior, in interaction with materials such as wood. At the same time, we developed a new form of working environment that does not simply arrange office workstations but creates a living space that can be freely played with," says Kathrin Gallus.

Under the motto "Concrete Excellence", the design for the striking new building on the banks of the Neckar in Heidelberg already convinced the jury in the selection process and now also the international award jury. It is an office building of the latest generation, whose working environment focuses on communication and identification and offers users a variety of options for appropriation and activation. With its curved façade elements, its significant tree supports in the foyer and the sculptural ceiling in the casino, the building also demonstrates the design potential of concrete as a material and combines it with sustainable innovations such as the use of a cement in the façade elements that purifies the air through photocatalysis. Thanks to its highly sustainable energy concept, the building also achieves "DGNB Platinum", the highest certification category of the German Sustainable Building Council.
