German Design Award 2020 in Frankfurt– AS+P triumphant on both the national and the international stage
The AS+P team has garnered two certificates for its two winning projects – “A New Building for MHK’s European Headquarters” in Dreieich and the “Integrated Planning of Badya city” in Cairo, which are now both also on show at Museum Angewandte Kunst.
The certificates were awarded by the German Design Council at a ceremony which took place at Messe Frankfurt as part of the Ambiente Consumer Goods Fair. Associate Partner Matthias Dilger and Project Partner Nils Müller were extremely proud to accept the two awards on behalf of the entire interdisciplinary team at AS+P. Both the elegant new building, part of the MHK ensemble in the middle of a large park landscape, and the integrated planning for the strategic urban sprawl of Badya City, 30 km west of Cairo are prime examples of the kind of multidisciplinary planning favored by AS+P.
Accordingly, for the MHK European Headquarters project, Chief Landscape Architect and Urban Planner at AS+P Matthias Dilger collaborated closely with the AS+P architects and the client to implement these impressive six-hectares of parklands, which form one of the largest rhododendron gardens in Germany and, as a campus which is well worth a visit, represents a considerable enhancement to the center of commerce that is Dreieich. By contrast, for Badya City, a development with mixed usage, AS+P’s international team designed not only the master plan for the entire city but also, in parallel, the architecture for more than 3,000 housing units for the beginning of sales.
The winning project are currently showcased in an exhibition at Frankfurt’s Museum Angewandte Kunst which will be open until its closing event on February 23.
