Start of construction of the new Lufthansa Conference and Visitor Centre at Frankfurt Airport

The Lufthansa Group is building a new visitor and conference centre at Frankfurt Airport. The building, designed by AS+P and located directly next to the Lufthansa Aviation Centre (LAC), will be a place for new forms of collaboration for Lufthansa Group employees. However, it will also be a place for customers, business partners and aviation enthusiasts. Lufthansa's pioneering spirit and expertise will be tangible - particularly in terms of shaping the future of aviation, but also in relation to the company's history. Two restored Lufthansa aircrafts will be on permanent display as the main historical attraction: the Junkers Ju 52 and, for the first time, the legendary Lockheed Super Star with the registration D-ALAN, which is currently being restored at Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg. Both aircrafts will be visible from afar thanks to a large transparent façade.

The light-filled building in the style of an aircraft hangar will offer conference and visitor facilities as well as space for events with a total of more than 1,000 guests. The building’s architecture makes subtle reference to the neighbouring LAC. A sustainable and highly efficient energy concept provides for the use of renewable energy sources for operation with ground collectors and photovoltaics. In addition to the architecture, AS+P is also responsible for planning the outdoor facilities, which harmoniously integrate the building into the high-quality surroundings.

The project is part of our decades of experience in international and national airport planning. At Frankfurt Airport, AS+P is currently realizing the PTS Station F directly at Terminal 1, among other projects.
