The Munich Trade Fair is deemed one of the leading international trade fair corporations. "BAUMA", in the construction and building industry, is the largest and most significant professional trade fair in the world. Held every three years, BAUMA has been organized by the Munich Trade Fair since 1954. The demand for parking spaces increases significantly during this trade fair in comparison to the Munich Trade Fair, as the majority of open area - usually used for parking - is used as exhibition space during BAUMA. In 2001 AS+P Albert Speer + Partner GmbH constructed, for the Munich Trade Fair, the expert's opinion "New Trade Fair Munich - Development Potential within the expanded periphery of the Munich Trade Fair". Various developments have brought with them the need for the results of this earlier expert's opinion to be revised. The new and altered demands of the Messe GmbH, in particular, are to be considered during this revision. The development process occurred in two phases which built upon one another: Sorting and analyzing fundamental material; compilation of parking, or rather, trade fair expansion area demands as well as other operational requirements of the Munich Trade Fair. In the second phase alternative planning proposals were developed and putting them up for discussion. Within the framework of the survey phase, the office of Gebhard Konzepte, Munich was supportively involved in the location inquiries.
