When the plans in the 1990s for the Isar-Amper-Werke headquarters to relocate were never realized, the 5.8-hectare site owned by E.ON Energie AG in southwest Munich, became a wasteland. In 2010 E.ON, together with BO 143 Projekt GmbH & Co KG, a project company owned by Accumulata Immobilien Development GmbH, took out an option to acquire the site. On behalf of Accumulata AS+P produced an urban development concept with a focus on housing (approx. 1,000 residential units, including two neighboring municipal plots of land). Creating an attractive urban residential area despite the requisite high building density dictated by economic reasons, as well as difficult noise conditions, provided a special challenge. Together with the planning authorities, the Munich City Council is working on a framework resolution, and an international urban development competition is also being prepared. In addition to the urban planning, AS+P is responsible for managing and organizing the entire process. The aim is to solve the noise problem and make the development a showpiece of sustainable planning.
