Overall process of the project
For the state capital Wiesbaden, with its approximately 290,000 inhabitants, the integrated urban development concept 2030+ was drawn up by means of a comprehensive process involving citizens, administrative authorities and stakeholders. Based on the quality goals, AS+P developed potential scenarios of future development, analyzed trends and challenges for Wiesbaden, and designed an overall concept for 2030+. In the participation process, AS+P supplied the specialist input in discourse, cooperation formats and for graphic media. The urban development concept is methodical, starting with the overriding goals, which are then broken down into the thematic areas of Wiesbaden in the region, homes and living, work and shopping, mobility and connectivity, and environment and outdoor space, with corresponding thematic cards and proposed content. To supplement all this, the concept also designates particularly important "impetus spaces" and offers proposals and strategies for implementation. To ensure an integrated approach, AS+P has prepared both functional and urban planning considerations within a step-by-step process linked to participants in a wide variety of formats. As part of this process interdependencies were taken into account, areas of potential presented, and lateral correlations, e.g. with the traffic development concept, integrated.
