Friedbert Greif of AS+P discusses the future of Urban planning in Chemnitz

As part of the event “Light and Vision – Perspectives for Chemnitz”, organised by the Freie Presse, Friedbert Greif, Managing Partner at AS+P Albert Speer + Partner GmbH, took part in a high-level panel discussion on the future of urban development in Chemnitz.

Together with representatives from local government, academia, culture and business, Greif explored current challenges and opportunities for the city as it moves towards becoming the European Capital of Culture 2025 – and beyond. The discussion focused in particular on how sustainable urban planning, innovative mobility concepts and high-quality public spaces can contribute to creating a liveable and forward-looking city.

“Chemnitz has the potential to reposition itself in the long term through its role as European Capital of Culture – as a city with a strong identity, a high quality of life and innovative momentum for the entire region. The multifunctional arena planned in the heart of Chemnitz could make a significant contribution in this context,” emphasised Friedbert Greif during the discussion.

The Light and Vision event provided a platform for interdisciplinary exchange on the city’s urban development perspectives. As an experienced planning office with numerous projects in the field of urban development, AS+P regularly contributes its expertise to national and international discourse on sustainable urban design.
