AS+P once again successful at the ICONIC AWARDS 2025. Two awards for visionary Architecture and Urban Planning.

As diverse as the range of services offered by AS+P Albert Speer + Partner, so too are this year’s achievements at the ICONIC AWARDS 2025:

Two AS+P projects - the building E in the FRANKLIN Quarter, Mannheim, and the High-Rise Development Plan HEP2024 – successfully convinced the jury of the German Design Council.

Building E, designed by AS+P, was recognized in the category “Innovative Architecture”. The striking structure at the heart of the new Mannheim quarter embodies contemporary, sustainable, and functionally sophisticated architecture. Its flexible use, distinctive façade design, and high spatial quality form important components in the urban development of the area. E-FRANKLIN’s clear architectural language and focus on sustainability and urban liveability contributes to and plays a defining role in shaping the identity of the new quarter. It combines architectural precision with social and ecological responsibility, setting a strong example for innovative and responsible design in Mannheim.

The High-Rise Development Plan (HEP2024), developed for our home turf Frankfurt, was also recognised by the jury – winning in the category “Concept”. AS+P’s development plan illustrates how urban quality, sustainability, and architectural excellence can be connected, reflecting visionary approaches of future-oriented high-rise development balancing urban density and quality of life.

Since the 1980s, the High-Rise Development Plan has been continuously updated, serving as a strategic framework for the development of Frankfurt’s skyline. It represents balance between innovation and tradition, ambition and responsibility, and sets a benchmark for high-rise culture that focuses not solely on height, but on the quality of urban spaces.

The HEP2024 was developed by AS+P on behalf of the City of Frankfurt am Main, under the leadership of the City Planning Department. Complementary expert studies were provided by partner consultancies ee-concept (sustainability), weatherpark, and INKEK (urban climate), each examining different aspects ranging from ecology and mobility to urban economy.

Frankfurt’s city landscape perfectly exemplifies the connection between inter­national planning expertise and local responsibility, which has shaped AS+P’s identity for decades.

The recognition at the ICONIC AWARDS 2025 demonstrates that our interdisciplinary approach – integrating architecture, urban planning, and sustainability – is increasingly receiving recognition beyond Frankfurt’s city limits. The ICONIC AWARDS are regarded as one of the most prestigious inter­national accolades for trailblazing architecture, innovative urban development, and visionary design concepts.

AS+P continues its strong track record at the ICONIC AWARDS with the respective accomplishments of the projects E-FRANKLIN and HEP2024, succeeding numerous previous honours.
