Digital Campus Framework Plan
Due to the realignment of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, part of the site of the main plant in Wiesloch district of -Walldorf is available for third-party use. The “Digital Campus of Things” is to be developed as an innovative office and technology district and contribute to enhancing the urban planning, open space planning, and architecture of the site.

AS+P prevailed with its idea in a previous review procedure and further developed the design into an urban development masterplan. The design provides for an architecturally distinctive structure, accounts for gradual development, and allows for a flexible response to future needs. The central element of the traffic development is a connecting boulevard and the implementation of sustainable forms of mobility. The plan was elaborated in close coordination with the client and the two local communities.
The masterplan combines the idea of a campus that is as flexible as possible but with an exacting use of space; it incorporates long-term-oriented insights into the use and marketability of the areas. Within the campus, flexible building plots allow for both large-scale halls for technology and production as well as office and service structures. The start of the project will be a striking urban ensemble with a high point. The framework plan integrates current plans for traffic connections or requirements of already known investors and defines common spatial guidelines. In parallel and as an integral part of the framework plan, AS+P has developed a holistic traffic concept.
The masterplanning serves as a basis for the preparation of the cross-zone development plan.
