overall spatial concept (section)
In terms of setting, the incorporated town of Traben-Trarbach is dominated by its location in the Mosel Valley. As the regional center it performs supply functions for the rural area, which are to be stabilized and expanded. On account of a foreseeable conversion assignment and urban structural changes, a long-term target concept was to be presented. AS+P managed the planning and participation process and compiled an integrated urban development concept with the target horizon 2025 (INSEK 2025). In addition to drawing up an urban planning and traffic concept, particular emphasis was placed on including local players in the planning process. As such, talks were held with relevant authorities and experts (retail concept, town refurbishment). Further there were meetings of experts on the topic of "Health, Sport and Culture", "Business and Employment" and "Wine-growing and Tourism", in which the relevant aspects of each topic were discussed. To enable the public to participate, two citizens' forums were organized, which were very well attended. In the form of INSEK 2025, the town of Traben-Trarbach has an instrument, in which the communal objectives and development are bundled across the board, and which serves as a basis for the implementation of strategies and the application for subsidies.
