The former district hospital, which since 2002 has been run by private clinic operator "Asklepios Kliniken", is located on the north-eastern outskirts of the city of Langen. In its function as a clinic offering acute and regular medical care, it provides a large proportion of the emergency care services for the district around Offenbach. Furthermore, the clinic is a teaching hospital affiliated to Frankfurt University. Since 2002 there has been repeated alteration and extension work carried out at the clinic. Some of the construction work conducted over the last years corresponded only in part to the stipulations of Legal Zoning Plan No. 5 dating from 1969 and pertaining to the clinic. For this reason various activities were only possible by first obtaining special waivers. In order to be able to ensure the ongoing operation of the clinic and the provision of medical care for the population, in particular with regard to mental health, extensions to the clinic were once again necessary that make revision of and amendments to the legal zoning plan imperative. To draw up the legal zoning plan, current, medium, and long-term plans, as well as expansion potential and development possibilities for a timeframe of 10-15 years, had to be taken into consideration. AS+P was responsible for developing the legal zoning plan between 2017 and 2019: In addition to the preparation of a usage concept in spring 2017 and a preliminary design based on this, the legal site planning services also include agreement between peer reviewers on traffic, noise, drainage, and nature conservation. In this regard, we rely on a network of reliable and competent partners who provide the requisite expertise.
