Catchment
As part of the master plan for the Aja Mountain Pearls development in Ha'il, AS+P has designed a comprehensive mobility concept that transforms the new district into a forward-looking, largely car-free space in which eco-friendly transport is promoted. The focus is on giving clear priority to pedestrians and micro-mobility, supported by a dense network of shaded paths and convenient mobility axes that connect all neighbourhoods and make important destinations accessible within five minutes.
Mobility Cluster
Central mobility hubs at the entrances bundle external and internal transport services. Here, car parks, sharing services, micro-mobility stations and stops for a flexible internal public transport system are directly accessible. The hubs are complemented by a continuous internal public transport route that can accommodate various types of vehicles, from E minibuses to autonomous pods, enabling efficient, low-emission connections within the area. At the same time, the connection to a future BRT axis along the main access road creates the basis for sustainable regional accessibility.
Motorised private transport is consistently relocated to the periphery. Within the neighbourhoods, "living streets" based on the shared space principle ensure lively, safe spaces with low traffic volumes that still guarantee accessibility for emergency vehicles. Complementary strategies for delivery traffic and waste disposal integrate necessary functions without compromising the quality of life.
The result is a dynamic, diverse mobility system that promotes sustainable modes of transport, strengthens public space and ensures high-quality, sustainable development of the entire development area.
