Mobility and Movement Network
Within the Madinah Diamond Masterplan, an integrated mobility concept has been developed to support an accessible, walkable, and climate responsive urban environment. The concept is closely aligned with the development’s entertainment focused character. High profile destinations such as the Souk, the Lifestyle Promenade, and the regional mall are seamlessly connected through an integrated system of pedestrian routes, cycling links, and micromobility corridors. This ensures that visitors can move comfortably between leisure venues, cultural attractions, and retail hubs without depending on private vehicles.
A network of green corridors, promenades, and dedicated micromobility lanes links key destinations within the development. Intermodal mobility hubs offer shared e bikes, scooters, and future autonomous shuttles, ensuring smooth transitions between micromobility and the wider transport system. The masterplan connects to Madinah’s upcoming BRT and metro lines, securing strong ties to regional transit and reinforcing the project’s role as an accessible urban destination.
Vehicular access is organized through a clear road hierarchy and street designs that enhance safety and reduce car dominance. Local roads include wide pedestrian paths, micromobility lanes, and green buffers.
Parking is consolidated underground or at the site’s edges to preserve the pedestrian focused core.
Beyond internal circulation, the mobility strategy connects Madinah Diamond seamlessly to the wider region. Shuttle services link directly to the airport and railway station, improving access for residents, pilgrims, and tourists.
Altogether, these integrated measures create a low carbon, user friendly mobility system that supports active movement, reduces car dependence, and reinforces a vibrant, human-centered urban environment.
