The Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City will propel Saudi Arabia's innovation capacity into the competitive ranks of the world's leading nations. Located in Riyadh, the innovation cluster will support the MiSK Foundation's goal of encouraging young people to learn and take leadership roles to build the Saudi Arabia of tomorrow. It focuses on walkable, mixed-use neighbourhood of short distances. This approach follows the idea of Transport Oriented Development (T.O.D.), where nearby destinations are interwoven through dense and holistic smart and micro mobility and public transport networks. In order to create a user-oriented urban transport system, sustainable mobility services and an increase in the share of environmentally friendly forms of mobility, especially non-motorised transport and public transport, are targeted for the city. E-mobility, driverless vehicles, on-demand driving services, smart delivery systems, etc. will also be included in the overall system. The public transport system of the Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City fits seamlessly into the public transport network of the city of Riyadh and implements this approach down to the micro level and for the "last mile". A Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA) has demonstrated the positive impact of the mobility strategy and has been taken into account in the planning of roads and intersections. The road network within the development provides convenient, shaded and comfortably designed ancillary spaces to encourage people to use smart and small-scale mobility. The development of Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City aims to become a prime example of a modern and integrated intermodal transport system for Riyadh.
