Status analysis of space occupancy at the Olympic Stadium
From the point of view of Olympiapark München GmbH (OMG), the structural facilities in use at the Olympic Park need to be brought up to date, and specifically modernized in terms of energy and operating technology such that they are in line with technological advances. With meeting present-day requirements relating to the hosting of modern events and sporting occasions in the Olympic Park as a whole as the objective, the, from the point of view of the operator, sustainable and economically viable feasible medium to long-term development of the Olympic Park will be continued. In this context, in 2011 AS+P was tasked with producing a strategic development and usage concept for the event venues in the Olympic Park for the planning scenarios "reduction of existing structures", "orientation towards existing structures", and "intensification of use", which was presented to the OMG's Supervisory Board in 2012. Thereupon, OMG and the city's public utility company Stadtwerke München (SWM) were asked to come up with possible cost reductions for the option "orientation towards existing structures: Olympic Stadium". Against this background, AS+P/PROPROJEKT developed an event-based status analysis for the Olympic Stadium, a definition of event profiles using past events, and the scenario-based implementation of these profiles in the event spaces in the annex building at the Olympic Stadium. In addition, the renovation costs were calculated using space-related construction cost key figures. In order to examine possible optimization and savings potential in more depth, during the course of the development two workshops were held with representatives from SWM, LHM, RAW and OMG in attendance. The result of the evaluations led to a schematic usage concept for the stadium.
