AS+P project wins DGNB Award in Gold

DGNB Gold for the “DZ BANK Pavillon Cityhaus II”
The “DZ BANK Pavillon Cityhaus II”, which was designed by AS+P and commissioned in 2016, has won the DGNB Award in Gold in the context of its certification for the DGNB “German Quality Seal for Sustainable Building”.
The certification process was lead-managed by Daniel Ulrich, an architect at AS+P and an approved DGNB auditor for “New office and Admin Buildings”.
“Pavillon Cityhaus II” won the distinction in Gold in the category “New Education Buildings” thanks to the superior quality of the rooms it provides for DZ Bank staff. During the planning phase, which was supported by a construction biologist, AS+P consciously opted for materials that improved ambient air quality appreciably. Measurements in the new build thus reported a very low level of VOCs in the air. Guaranteeing a superlative ambient air quality by using low-emission products and making sure there is an appropriate rate of air circulation and change enhances user well-being and is an important way of keeping staff fit and satisfied.
The project also stands out for the high ecological standards it meets. First and foremost, it relies on eco-sound and resource-friendly construction materials and makes especially efficient use of primary energy sources.
The four-story pavilion rounds out the ensemble of DZ DANK buildings on Mainzer Landstrasse and houses a childcare facility, an expanded canteen, conference and meeting rooms, and a basement cycle garage including changing rooms. The pavilion is accessed from the existing buildings by a sky bridge.
