The light-flooded building, designed in the style of an aircraft hangar, embodies the pioneering spirit and expertise of Lufthansa. It provides exhibition space and can accommodate events with several hundred guests.

A defining feature of the building is its large transparent façade. It offers views of two legendary, historic Lufthansa aircraft – the Junkers Ju 52 and the Lockheed Super Star. Both aircraft are displayed as visitor attractions in the 17-metre-high hall. The manoeuvre allowing for the installation of the two aircraft in the hall required early integration of implementation processes into the planning as well as a special technical and logistical coordination.
Planning area of Lufthansa Conference and Visitor Centre
As a flexible meeting place with collaboration areas for employees and business partners of the Lufthansa Group, the new centre responds to changing patterns in office use and working environments as well as to new forms of communication and collaboration. The energy concept ensures that the building operates in a sustainable and highly efficient way – powered by renewable energy sources. In addition to the architectural design, AS+P was also responsible for the landscape design, which integrates the building harmoniously into its high quality surrounding context.

A particular challenge was the tight schedule, which could be met through the use of industrial construction planning processes and early involvement of the executing company.
As the general planner, AS+P managed the project from the beginning as a BIM project.
