The Lufthansa Loungewelt encompasses 65 lounges worldwide which are available to Lufthansa passengers depending on their ticket class and status. Due to the new Departure Gate A-West, two existing Lufthansa lounges in the Departure Area A have been removed. However, these have been replaced by a One-Class Lounge located on level 5 above Gate 65. In cooperation with FAAG, AS+P has built the new Lufthansa Tower Lounge at the Frankfurt am Main Airport. The lounge, open since March 2009, has a GFA of 1,200 sqm and can accommodate up to 288 guests. It is equipped with a spacious "comfort zone" with luxurious leather seats as well as a quieter, more secluded area to cater to business needs while passengers await flights. Furthermore, a bistro area as well as five shower rooms has been made available to Lufthansa clients. The unusual ambiance of the lounge is equally captivating: located directly below the tower, the comfort zone features panorama windows which offer a spectacular view of the runway and apron.
